Applications are invited for the position of Employment Centre Coordinator in Community Employment Services, located at the St. Catharines office. The starting hourly rate is $24.62/hr (Pay Band D $24.62/hr to $28.52) for a 35 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.
Reporting to the Manager, Community Employment Services, the incumbent provides customer service, data entry, clerical functions, and resource centre assistance in the Employment Ontario Service Delivery model.
- Greet clients in person, answering telephone, text, and email inquiries regarding services available
- Schedule client appointments to meet with employment consultant, confirming appointments by phone, email, and text
- Provide guidance in the use of all resources within the Resource Centre; including assistance with computer usage, fax or printer; accessing job search websites; assistance with resume and cover letter completion; utilizing websites to gain information on jobs, careers, etc.; referring to available print material (books, pamphlets, literature) to support clients job search or request for career related information
- Maintain job postings on the CES website, posting vacancies, tracking open and expired postings, and follow up with employment consultants to discern if postings should be removed from website
- Create monthly calendar of job search related workshops, secure facilitators, create workshop events on website, and host/co-host session
- Manage all CES social media handles, create daily content, and respond to any inquiries.
- Assist employment consultants with general clerical duties, including creating documents utilizing a variety of software programs
- Assist with employer job fairs or other community events
- Two (2) year diploma/degree in Business, Social Science, Humanities, Applied Health, Mathematics or Science
- Minimum two (2) years related experience working in a fast-paced office environment
- Demonstrated excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Database management and clerical office experience in a customer service capacity
- Previous experience with EOIS-CaMS and Fedcap CARES considered an asset
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, email, internet, and trouble shooting basic computer operation problems
- Exceptional level of attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy to data collection and input
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Experience working in a high-pressure environment with a diverse clientele including clients with multiple challenges to employment
