What you'll do
The Delivery Excellence Manager spearheads talent strategy, development opportunities, and strategic staffing and allocation of Delivery Team to Product Squads. The Delivery Excellence Chapter Manager has prime accountability for the agile practice and excellence of the Delivery Excellence Chapter. The Delivery Excellence Manager ensures application of consistent standards across the expertise domain, maintains a talent pool of contributors to this expertise domain, and coordinates with Product Owners to ensure they have adequate functional support for their mission.
Responsible for coaching and mentoring chapter members towards desired behaviors and outcomes, as dictated by the roadmap and strategic initiatives.
Manage the recruitment & Talent strategy in support of the product organization roadmap & technical strategy by building the strategic outlook, talent plan and budget for the community of practitioners that are part of the chapter (area).
Build & maintain consistent standards based technical practice by participating in the creation of standards, keeping up to date on governance and regulatory standards of the domain, and by building in education and standards enforcement into the chapter.
Ensure the integrity of the functional area by collaborating with the Product Owner(s) & Pod Tech Lead(s) to make sure architectural, functional & regulatory standards are being adhered to, and facilitate the team(s) to maintain and build out new capabilities and/or systems in a manner such that they drive efficiency of execution while solving for scale, resilience, reliability at the same time.
Ensure consistency of knowledge by setting up interaction and knowledge sharing processes among chapter members in different squads.
Collaborate with adjacent chapters with the technology domain with the objective to promote consistency of technical approach, and shared knowledge across the organization. As part of this accountability, create cross-functional learning opportunities for chapter members in order to promote technical depth.
Contribute competency specific goals and work standards to the Quarterly Business Review. Evolve the competency by building a backlog of continuous improvements and drive them in concert with activities that support the product vision.
Conduct performance appraisals for chapter members based on their functional performance as domain experts & work contributors, with input from applicable operational leadership (e.g., Product Owners, Pod Technical Leads)

Work with HR to attract top talent, conduct interviews and facilitate onboarding of selected candidates.
Support talent retention by charting and tracking growth paths of all chapter members, managing the motivation of chapter members by optimizing assignments, and organize activities (learning journeys, seminars, etc) to provide continuous learning to chapter members.
Manage resource allocation between pods & squads to comply effectively with the needs of the business and professional development of the chapter members. Manage effective rotation of chapter members between assignments to continue driving growth and development.
Ability to manage and implement multiple initiatives with cross-functional teams
What you bring
Domain Expertise
7+ years of relevant work experience bringing commercial software solutions to market, or experience in a similar product engineering capacity.
3+ years of demonstrated experience in building & managing high performance teams.
Specific experience in Agile methodologies such as SAFe is an asset.
Education in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or similar is preferred.
Knowledge of Retail Business/Technology is an asset.
