Position: Executive Assistant (EA)
Background: Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House is a vibrant Neighbourhood House serving the Kensington-Cedar
Cottage Community since 1950. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to work as part of a team to support our efforts to build strong neighbourhoods where people connect, belong and thrive.
In 2020, Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House secured funding for the Cedar Cottage Redevelopment Project. To assist in this exciting venture Cedar Cottage is looking for an Executive Assistant to work in areas related to program and operational compliance and coordination to include internal and external communication, project management, human resources, grant writing and contract reporting.
Who you are: The ideal Executive Assistant will be a people person who understands our Neighbourhood House values and mission driven work. This person will be a strong communicator (written and oral), well-organized and experienced in non-profit management. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the EA will play a pivotal role in this exciting next stage of Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House.
Responsibilities: The EA will take a lead role to coordinate the development of an operations manual and a program standards manual that meets the requirements of contracts and accreditation activities. Other areas include support for the Leadership Team in organizational change including relocation, human resources, project management and managing committee, staff and board minutes.
Qualifications:
- 2 - 3 years experience in the management and/or administration of non-profit programs, particularly grant writing, developing policy and procedures, reporting and work planning
- Technical skills related to social media, web site updating, office 365, basic computer knowledge
- Strong written and oral communication skills demonstrated in presentations and reports
- Able to support efforts in the Cedar Cottage Redevelopment-primarily in preparation for the construction phase-including activities related to relocation
- Is a people person who enjoys being part of a diverse team in an integrated service model and is a leader committed to collaboration, building volunteer and staff capacity
- Must have knowledge of Neighbourhood House work and be committed to anti-racism, truth and reconciliation and social justice
- Clean Criminal record check and able to work in Canada

Salary & Benefits: OP4 Step 2- (ANHBC Grid) $30.46 (35 hours). Competitive benefits package incl group medical and pension; hourly/salary range
