Belvika is currently seeking an Operations CPG facility Manager to manage 2 facilities in Mississauga, Ontario. This role will report to the VP, Operations and will be responsible for approximately 500+ employees. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong mix of leadership experience in food co-packaging or manufacturing environment, an ability to work with various systems and processes, and a desire to take on new challenges in a fast paced and exciting customer focused environment.
The successful candidate will:
- Manage, Supervise & Coordinate the employees working within the operation of the facility
- Train & mentor staff to ensure policies, procedures and quality requirements are met
- Ensure production targets are being achieved while maintaining efficient use of staff resources
- Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly reports are being completed and KPIs are being reviewed in accordance to company requirements
- Develop and implement a continuous improvement program to support the company’s goals around improved costs and efficiencies
- Ensure that all reporting employees are completing their assigned duties while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Enhance and develop policies, procedures and systems to meet the goals of the facility
- Work with VP, Operations to ensure the operation is within its operating budget
- Interact with client to develop and maintain a professional relationship
- Handle client enquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Handle and discuss operational issues/problems with VP, Operations.
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring, disciplining (while using HR dept. support), terminations and performance evaluation of staff.
- Train/instruct newly hired staff (such as Inventory Personnel, etc) and monitor their progress
- Responsible for ensuring staff is accurately recording and completing of production, inventory, shipping documentation and lot code records.
- Manage day to day employee vacation and absence tracking with company staffing coordinator
- Ensure compliance of all Health & Safety Rules and Regulations, along with proper investigation and reporting of all property violations
- Ensure the staff maintain a clean and organized facility in accordance with Company standards.
- Ensure all staff are adhering to all Quality Standards, GMP and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure to maintain the overall facility site log books as required by the Company’s SOPs for various areas such as equipment, general maintenance, H&S, employee training, etc.
- All other duties as assigned by the Company.
Education/Work experience requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a co-packaging or manufacturing facility in a leadership role, preferably in a CPG food environment;
- Previous management experience;
- College equivalent or higher;
- Knowledge of production, distribution, inventory and supply chain practices;
- Knowledge of applicable labor laws;
- Experience is leading Health and Safety programs.
Key Technical & Behavioural competencies:
- Previous experience with SAP or other ERP software systems, including Nulogy, considered an asset;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel;
- Strong strategic and critical thinking abilities;
- Customer focused with strong interpersonal skills;
- Reevaluating existing priorities and readjust priorities based on business demands
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Detail oriented;
- Ability to lead a dynamic team and increase overall performance.
