Job Description
Supervisor - Field Operations Hazardous Materials (MTCU 253W and 253S certified).
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the activities at asbestos and mold abatement project sites, as well as light demolition and restoration projects. This includes supervising abatement and demo crews, inspecting ongoing work, ensuring adherence to regulations, codes, safety protocols, and arranging for necessary equipment and keeping project costs on budget.
The Supervisor ensures that construction projects are meeting deadlines and being completed safely and on time. They also ensure that all equipment is working properly.
This individual is a hands-on supervisor of trades, working side-by-side, and makes sure that teams are working together with the sole objective of completing a project while adhering to deadlines, specifications, and costs.
Other duties:
(a) Support the Mission, Vision, Values and Goals of the organization
(b) Manage and oversee all asbestos, hazardous materials and demolition related restoration services provided by the Company
(c) Responsible for training site employees; including training on the removal of hazardous materials, building containments enclosures, following safety protocols, etc.
(e) Operate and maintain instruments including sampling pumps, calibrators, and air quality monitors, and compose reports with reporting software
(g) Adhere to strict safety, QA/QC standards and maintaining quality and safety standards on all projects
(m) Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, customers, subcontractors, and consultants both verbal and written
(o) Coordinate work duties in the field, job starts and schedules with all personnel including subcontractors
(p) Ensure applicable permits are in place, and meet with inspectors as required
(q) Coordinate and possibly attend after-hours emergency jobs to ensure services are completed as required
(w) Comply with all legislative requirements
(x) Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person, i.e., ownership/upper management
(y) Attend training courses and seminars as to ensure compliance with legislative and health and safety requirement associated with the industry, and to retain accurate knowledge of regulatory changes
(z) Physical Demands. There may be lifting from 41 lbs+, unassisted. Access and mobility in tight spaces. Half and full-face mask as needed. Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically. Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
