Pioneer Construction Inc. is looking for candidates interested in joining a dynamic team to learn and build a career in the field of construction and administration for our Sudbury, ON operations. The Office Clerk will require a high level of motivation, professionalism, and independence. This is a full-time permanent position available with competitive wages and benefit packages. Wage rates will be based on experience.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives and reviews all weigh scale tickets for successful processing
- Enter miscellaneous (manual) tickets if necessary
- Setup scale computers and support scale workers
- Prepare customer invoices
- Follow up on customer payments
- Subcontract preparation and distribution
- Code, verify, and enter accounts payable data into accounting system
- Prepare cheques/EFT paying hired subcontracted trucking companies for material hauling
- Compile data, statistics and other information
- Participate in general office duties such as filing, administrative duties, reception, answering phones and directing calls to the appropriate person
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High School diploma
- Experience with scale system
- Accounting experience in the construction industry an asset, two years minimum
- Experience with electronic accounting software (Jonas software an asset)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
