Position Title: Manager, Finance Operations (ID)

Status: Fixed-term, Full-time - 12 Months (Hybrid)
Reporting to the Controller, the Manager, Finance Operations is responsible for the efficient operations of the accounting department which includes overseeing day-to-day and month-end responsibilities related Accounts Payable, Banking and Treasury, Revenue, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger maintenance, collaborating on systems and process improvement initiatives as well as transactional functions including financial reporting, budgeting and accounting system controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, motivate and develop intermediate accountant, Revenue and Billing Analyst, Accounts Payable Lead and Accounts Payable Clerks. Conduct regular performance appraisals and assign tasks as required by the business.
- Oversee the timely and accurate processing of banking and treasury, revenue and billing and the payables cycles.
- Review and post all vendor and customer invoices ensuring proper controls are implemented at each stage of the process.
- Manage the month-end close process employing proper tools and checklists. Conduct review of variances to assess completeness and accuracy of financial statements.
- Manage the year-end financial audit. Work with Controller and Director of Planning and Analysis to create the year-end timeline. Work with auditors to establish cadence for ensuring audit is completed in a timely manner.
- Maintain and manage the Chart of Accounts to ensure the financial ledger supports the business.
- Review and post journal entries and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
- Review balance sheet account reconciliations (excluding payroll accounts) for timeliness and completeness.
- Address internal control improvement opportunities including gaps identified in audits, leverage systems and processes to streamline control environment, and draft SOP’s to strengthen internal control documentation and sustainability.
- Prepare and/or review reporting requirements for FAR and Board such as consulting and contractor reports.
- Manage completion of the insurance renewal forms. Work with Controller on changes to insurance requirements and completeness of the renewal process.
- Understand commodity taxes and tax filing processes. Ensure the proper tax treatment and applicability of ITCs in relation to the business models (i.e. CAM) for processing invoices.
- Support the forecasting and budgeting processes. Update relevant schedules and work with planning and analysis team to deliver timely reporting.
- Provide back-up for the Controller.
- Support ad-hoc accounting initiatives and projects; research accounting issues to ensure compliance standards met.
- Partnering with the Enterprise Risk Management department to support the Vendor Due Diligence Review Process
- Act as the point person for Accounting system initiatives as required.
- Provide assistance in day to day operational duties as required.
Education/Experience:
- CPA designation or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Finance & Accounting, minimum 2 to 3 years of people management
- Solid technical accounting and internal control knowledge
- Experience working across department and engaging with all levels of management
- Previous experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and planning and reporting systems, Microsoft Navision preferred
