Your work environment:
By joining the reception team of Saintlo Ottawa Jail, you will face your first challenge: the grand reopening of the hostel. After leasing the building for the last two years, it's time to go back to our roots and allow travelers to experience the city of Ottawa and create memorable encounters.
On the other hand, you will have to opportunity to say that you work in an old prison alongside other passionate human.
Your responsibilities:
You will be the first contact for every guest coming into Jail. Your main responsibilities are to ensure that the travellers, who may have come for a long and tiring commute, feel like home. To greet them in a professional, helpful and friendly manner and check them in accordingly to the procedure. Also, from time to time, to be able to solve problems as they arise and finally advise these guests on their stay and how to make it even more memorable.
More specifically, you will be called to:
- Process guest check-ins, check-outs, and taking reservations in person, by telephone, web-sites, email, and fax in accurate, timely and courteous manner;
- Perform transactions accurately and efficiently;
- Reconcile daily cash reports;
- Keep the front desk and lobby clean and organized at all times;
- Assist housekeeping with maintaining the overall cleanliness of the hostel by performing duties such as morning bed checks, kitchen clean up, laundry and keeping reception clean and tidy;
- Servicing needs of guests to ensure their stay is an enjoyable one;
- Follow policies and procedures manual when incidents occur;
- Attend information sessions, exhibit openings, etc to stay aware of what’s going on in Ottawa and surrounding area.
you are the perfect person if :
- Retail sales or customer service experience;
- Experience in the hostel industry or similar experience;
- Knowledge of various computer programs including: Outlook, Excel, Word
- Knowledge of Property Management System : Cloudbeds (an asset)
- Ability to operate in both official languages an asset;
