MTN HOUSE by Basecamp is a new luxury property added to the Basecamp Properties portfolio. MTN HOUSE has 99 newly renovated hotel rooms, an elevated fine dining restaurant and a Nordic Spa (opening July 2024). MTN HOUSE will represent a luxurious hotel, with all amenities right on location, so all guests can enjoy an experience like no other in the heart of the mountains.
Position Overview
Join our prestigious fine dining restaurant as a Host and be the face of our establishment. As a vital member of our team, you will provide exceptional customer service and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our esteemed guests. With your exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and passion for hospitality, you will contribute to delivering a memorable dining experience that exceeds our patrons' expectations.
Salary: $19-$20/hr + gratuity + bonus
Shifts: Full-time/Permanent. Weekdays, weekends, days and evenings.

Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression of the restaurant.
- Manage the reservation system, accurately recording and organizing guest information, special requests, and table assignments.
- Coordinate with the restaurant staff to ensure efficient table turnover and smooth seating arrangements.
- Provide accurate wait time estimates and manage the seating queue effectively, striving to minimize guest waiting times.
- Familiarize guests with the restaurant layout, including dining areas, bar, lounge, and restrooms.
- Communicate effectively with the wait staff, kitchen team, and management to ensure a seamless flow of service.
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a courteous and professional manner, striving to resolve issues promptly and exceed expectations.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the reception area, lobby, and waiting areas.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the restaurant's menu offerings, specials, and wine list.
- Display a strong knowledge of the local area, including attractions, events, and accommodations, to provide recommendations to guests when requested.
- Uphold high standards of professionalism, appearance, and conduct, adhering to the restaurant's policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host/hostess in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment is highly preferred.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with guests in a personable and courteous manner.
- Exceptional organization and time management abilities to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with composure and grace.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and an unwavering commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operational needs.
- Proficiency in using reservation management software and other relevant technology is an asset.
- Knowledge of fine dining etiquette, wine pairing, and menu offerings is desirable.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or a related field is a plus.
