JOB SUMMARY
As a member of the HR team, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting C/TFN Human Resources Manager to assist C/TFN staff and citizens to apply for work & process their paperwork to HR files. A Human Resources (HR) Assistant is a professional who is responsible for the daily administrative and HR duties of the organization. They assist with recruitment and record maintenance for payroll processing as well as provide clerical support to all employees and other related duties as requested.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Support Human Resource Manager and interdepartmental initiatives by:
- · Coordinating the recruitment process, posting job opportunities, scheduling interviews, preparing interview packages, onboarding and off boarding of employees, file performance evaluations and other correspondence to Human Resource Files,
- · Obtaining necessary signatures on documents;
- · Delivering necessary documents to C/TFN Finance in a timely manner;
- · Observing and enforcing protocols & policies related to security and privacy of HR files;
- · Communicating documentation requirements to the appropriate departments, boards and committees;
- · Assisting to build HR processes and relationships with employees, citizens, applicants and C/TFN departments.
- · Participating in education and professional development
- · Providing advice related to HR policies, processes, programs and duties
- · Acting as a logistical support person to HR policies, processes, programs and duties
- · Assist in coordinating technical and analytical input, as requested.
- · Grade 12, GED, or equivalent in training and experience
- · Ability to effectively operate MS Office programs, Open Office, and other software
- · Excellent business writing skills
Contribute to the development of C/TFN’s employment capacity by:
Other duties related to C/TFN development programs and projects, as assigned by the Director and Manager.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & SUITABILITY
- Communication and relationship building skills for interfacing with the C/TFN Leadership, Staff, Citizens, other governments, training institutions and the general public
- Experience with file management
- Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of C/TFN governance, culture, traditions, goals and objectives
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Strong time management, organization and prioritization skills
