Job Description
Under the direction of the Manager, Human Resources, Wellness, Occupational Health, Wellness and Safety, the Human Resources Assistant facilitates communication between Human Resources and internal and external contacts while providing a wide range of administrative support and assistance essential to the functioning of the Human Resources Department.
The Human Resources Assistant Duties will include:
- Recruitment and Selection
- Providing Reception Assistance
- Clerical and Reporting Assistance
- Providing assistance to Labour Relations function
- Maintaining a complete and well organized filing system
Qualifications Required and Preferred- Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent post-secondary education.
- Minimum of 1 year Experience in a Human Resources Office Environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Office computer skills (Excel. Word, Powerpoint)
- Previous experience in applicant tracking systems, and in a unionized healthcare environment would be an asset
- Experience in a mental health or hospital environment preferred.
- Knowledge of Meditech would be an asset.
- Strong knowledge in administrative principles and practices
- Knowledge of employment legislation (i.e. Employment Standards Act; Human Rights)
- Strong skills in management of administrative practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication including tact and diplomacy when responding to telephones, greeting visitors and attending meetings.
- Excellent proof-reading abilities.
- Strong organizational, prioritization and time management abilities to ensure that assignments are completed with deadlines and established time frames.
- Strong planning and coordinating abilities to ensure booking meeting rooms and scheduled luncheons are coordinated successfully.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills to determine effective ways to present correspondence, reports, charts, tables and presentations.
- Attention to detail reviewing all materials.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the position
- Proven good attendance record with the capability of maintaining this same standard
