We are searching for a Human Resources Business Partner, DE&I who:
- Is seeking an opportunity to support the Distribution Centre, Central Kitchen, and Support Centre located in Woodbridge, and the Longo’s DPS located in Rexdale, in all HR Generalist related matters
- Is passionate about providing actionable HR insights to drive decision making
- Has experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist
- Is eager to engage directly with Business Unit Leaders and Team Members to provide guidance in a wide variety of HR areas, including recruitment strategy, talent development and career planning, employee engagement, DE&I, and employee relations.
- Is passionate about execution of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy and staying current on DE&I issues

What you’ll do:
Employee Relations:
- Maintain an active presence at assigned locations to proactively support and coach Business Unit Leaders and team members on HR related issues.
- Work with the Business Unit Leaders and HR Colleagues to build operational bench strength by identifying high potentials for promotions, transfers and career development opportunities.
- Ensure the implementation of effective recruitment strategies and best practices
- Oversee the HR related project management supporting assigned business units
- Provides coaching and guidance on performance management, team member relations issues and policy interpretation.
- Conduct Human Rights Investigations in accordance with Longos Harassment & Workplace Violence Policy Guidelines.
- Support the annual rollout of the Employee Engagement Survey and provide ongoing support in the understanding and action planning of the results.
- Ensure company compliance with all legislative requirements including employment standards, human rights, health and safety, accessibility standards as well as business practices and standards.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion:
- Facilitate DE&I council meetings and oversee the execution of the DE&I strategy
- Maintain external partnerships with established partners such as Employee Resources Groups (ERGs); networking and collaborating on communications, events, and ideas
- Stay current on industry events and trends to bring insights to the DE&I council
- Prepare updates on DE&I matters and events for internal/external meetings and reports
- Collaborate with DE&I members to prepared Annual DE&I calendar of events
What we are looking for:
- 3 to 5 years Human Resources, generalist-level experience, ideally having worked in a multi-unit retail environment
- University and/or College education, preferably in a discipline related to Human Resources
- CHRL or in pursuit of the designation
- Knowledge of employment laws, employee relations practices and HR disciplines
- Demonstrated passion and experience with DE&I related initiatives and strategy
- Strong coaching, facilitation skills, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated service oriented, problem-solving approach
- Strong organizational and time management skills - ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Professional in maintaining a high level of confidentiality
- Strong computer skills-Microsoft Office products and HRIS system experience
