**This position is a 6 month term contract**
Altea Active’s Human Resource Coordinators are extremely organized individuals who are business partners that positively impact Altea Active’s goals. They maintain and enhance the organization's ethos with knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement, and employee development.
You have an innate ability to manage several tasks by effectively prioritizing and crushing your to-do list. You originate and lead Human Resources practices and objectives that provide a team-oriented; high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards; goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
You are the link between the team members and the management team. You consistently ensure Altea Active’s best interest is carried out in the day-to-day policies and systems while reducing the legal exposure, while coordinating the implementation of people-related services, policies and programs.

As a Human Resource Coordinator, a typical day might include the following:
- A mountain of emails to prioritize and conquer
- Posting online job ads to various channels
- Screening resumes and contacting all successful candidates to schedule interviews
- Meeting with candidates and conducting interviews, ensuring accurate notes are taken
- Processing benefits administration
- Entering a ton of data into the HRIS to ensure everything is tracked and nothing is missed
- Reviewing the completed team member training information from a new hire
- Coordinating with department managers reviewing hiring needs, schedules and payroll
- Auditing team member files verifying certifications and work permits are up to date and valid
- Health and Safety
- Career Fairs
- Preparing team member communication
- Provide support re: Performance management
To land this role you need to have;
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field
- 2 + years’ experience as a Human Resource Coordinator
- CHRP designation or actively working towards the Designation
- Experience with UKG is preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Documents
- Strong knowledge of current employment law matters, with a strong commitment to diversity management.
- Experience in the hospitality industry preferred
- All team members must have current CPR/First Aid certification prior to start date and must be maintained throughout employment
- A recent Criminal Background Check prior to commencement of training and/or work.
