Position Overview / Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the Human Resources function to support a healthy workplace, an engaged workforce and robust internal communications at all levels. The role ensures adherence to employment standards, health & safety laws, ASSA ABLOY policies regarding employment, employee relations, training requirements and provides reporting of human resource data.
Key Responsibilities
The Human Resources Coordinator will be accountable for:
Engagement and Retention
- Contribute to the creation and development of a world class business culture within FlexiForce North America (FFNA)
- Be a strong brand ambassador and advocate for FFNA
- Help FFNA work towards its target of becoming a Top 100 Canadian Business
- Administer the 30/60/90 day review process between employees and their supervisors
- Plan and organize staff events and recreational activities
Employee Relations
- Communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations to internal stakeholders
- Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations
- Support the HR and Payroll Coordinator with Time and Attendance and follow up to employees as required
- Support employees and their managers with Leave of Absence management process and documentation
- Support department supervisors and managers with employee conversations and help see through the performance management process
Safety
- Oversee the First Aid Program certifications and job postings. Conduct quarterly meetings with the First Aid team.
- Track and investigate all first aid incidents.
- Report injuries that require medical aid or loss time to Worksafe BC
- Work closely with employees and their supervisors who require both occupational and non-occupational accommodations in the workplace
- Participate in JHSC meetings and initiatives
- Develop Safety Training Talks
- Support HR Manager in the administration and development of the overall program
Recruitment
- Manage and track internal job postings and promotions
- Perform full cycle recruiting from Candidate experience through reference checks
- Build and sustain beneficial relationships with employment agencies and educational institutions
- Plan, organize, and attend recruitment fairs as needed
- Perform interviews, screens, and recruit for entry level, professional, and technical job openings
- Ensure the compatibility of applicants to job positions
- Develop marketing materials for internal and external opportunities
Learning and Development
- Oversee adequate orientation and training within the organization for all new hires
- Develop and monitor onboarding program
- Track compliance courses in the Learning Management System
- Maintain job descriptions for all positions in the factory and office
- Be keen to learn new skills yourself. We foster continuous improvements always.
HR Systems and Reporting
- Process new hires in ADP Workforce Now and GPS platforms
- Manage onboarding in HR systems
- Provide monthly business review slides and metrics on employee demographics and other elements of our scorecard
- Responsible for FTE monthly reporting
Organizational and Administrative Support
- Be willing to jump in and help anywhere.
- Provide general information and assistance internally and externally over the phone, electronically, and in-person
- Complete other duties and projects assigned
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPHR designation is a definite asset.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience as an HR Coordinator with responsibility for all human resource functions preferably in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of the BC Employment Standards Act, the BC Human Rights Act and the Personal Information Protection Act.
- Experience working with Worksafe BC and other insurance boards
- Experience with managing both occupational and non-occupational absences / accommodations
- Effective working knowledge of HRIS software with preference for experience with SAP Success Factors and ADP Workforce Now.
- Strong general computer and analytical skills with the ability to compile and analyse data using MS Excel and other programs as necessary.

Location: Abbotsford, BC
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
