Position Overview
Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent, the successful applicant will be responsible for the administration of various human resources functions and processes including benefits to employees and retirees.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Completing various administrative tasks such as ordering and maintaining office supply stock, preparing new hire packages, maintaining active and terminated employee files, etc.
- Creating requisitions and receiving invoices against purchase orders
- Assisting in the administration of site tours
- Meeting with new employees to assist in completing their HR onboarding and pension and benefits enrollment
- Assisting employees, retirees and surviving spouses with their inquiries regarding pension or benefits
- Acting as a liaison between employees and insurance providers
- Validating time entry for all site personnel through site-specific timekeeping application
- Maintaining and updating timekeeping application as needed
- Provide training to, support and assist timekeepers on timekeeping application
- Providing day to day support to the HR Department as required.
Qualifications
The ideal Candidate will have:
- Three (3) years of relevant Pension & Benefits experience with knowledge of HR policies/procedures
- Experience in payroll systems/functions
- A strong business orientation and customer focus with an ability to communicate to all levels of the business.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Well-developed organizational and administrative skills, including strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and control own workload
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience in Mining environment is considered an asset.
- Diploma in business or human resources considered an asset
