As an HR Generalist, you will play a critical role in supporting our organization's human resources functions. You will be responsible for providing a wide range of HR services and support to employees and management, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, and contributing to the development and implementation of HR initiatives.
Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment and Selection:
- Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Conduct new hire orientations and facilitate the onboarding process.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.
2. Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employees, providing guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Address employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances, ensuring timely resolution and fostering a positive work environment.
- Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate actions in response to employee issues or complaints.
- Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives.
3. Performance Management:
- Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback sessions.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance improvement plans and professional development opportunities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance management tools and processes.
6. HR & Safety Program, Policies and Compliance:
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Safety Officer to develop and implement safety programs and initiatives.
- Assist in conducting safety training sessions for employees, ensuring understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and provide input on safety-related matters.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Conduct periodic safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Support the investigation of workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, assisting in the identification of root causes and implementing preventive measures.
_ (a) Emergency Preparedness:_
- Assist in the development and maintenance of emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and communication protocols.
- Coordinate drills and exercises to ensure employees are familiar with emergency procedures.
- Update employee emergency contact information regularly.
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Safety Officer to assess and mitigate risks related to potential workplace emergencies.
_ (b) Safety Communication:_
- Assist in promoting a culture of safety by effectively communicating safety messages and initiatives to employees.
- Create and distribute safety-related communications, such as newsletters, bulletins, and safety reminders.
- Support the dissemination of safety information through employee training sessions, meetings, and workshops.
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Safety Officer to develop and implement safety awareness campaigns.
_ (c) Safety Reporting and Documentation:_
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date safety records, including incident reports, safety training records, and safety inspection reports.
- Prepare safety-related reports and metrics for management review.
- Support the compilation of data for safety-related regulatory reporting and compliance.
_ (d) Safety Training and Development:_
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Safety Officer to identify safety training needs and develop training programs.
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of safety training sessions for employees.
- Maintain records of safety training activities and ensure compliance with training requirements.
7. HR Reporting and Data Management:
- Compile and analyze HR data, preparing reports and metrics for management review.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases.
- Generate HR-related reports, such as turnover rates, headcount analysis, and HR metrics.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Diploma will be considered as well.
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role in a high hazard work industry or manufacturing operation.
- In-depth knowledge of HR policies, procedures, employment laws, and regulations.
- Strong understanding of recruitment and selection processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in HRIS and MS Office Suite.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
