SkyLink Express is a national cargo airline headquartered in Ontario with bases in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Montreal. We are currently searching for a seasoned HR Generalist with experience in Federal and Provincial Labour laws to support our growing business and operations. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for the daily functions of the HR department including full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, benefits, HR Programs, as well as creating and enforcing company policies and procedures in conjunction with the Senior Management Team.
Responsibilities will be (but are not limited to):
- Ongoing monitoring, measurement and innovation of HR programs, processes, policies, and procedures and implementing changes to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
- Management of employee relations issues and workplace investigations
- Ensuring all employment practices follow employment regulations at the federal and provincial level; provide regulatory updates to management group.
- Maintain and update Company Policy Manuals; develop new modules upon request by management.
- Work with Managers and Supervisors to develop, schedule and conduct performance reviews and obtain employee feedback.
- Work on company retention and recruitment initiatives
- Recruitment duties
- development of job descriptions, job posting and candidate vetting, interview scheduling and participation, reference checks, offer letters, hiring and leadership of on-boarding and collaboration with relevant management / departments with new hires.
- Administration and distribution of uniforms
- Host and participate in recruitment fairs.
- Track, create, present, and subsequent strategy of recruitment effort analytics.
- Manage invoices/receipts relating to recruitment expenses.
- Monitor industry compensation trends and make recommendations to management.
- Create and maintain employee engagement/recognition initiatives.
- Key point of contact for managers and employees for HR questions.
- Participate in the administration of the Pilot Collective Agreement
- Benefits administration: enroll employees into benefit program, manage claims process.
- Investigative, report and make recommendations to resolve employee issues based on policy and regulatory requirements including problem resolution, disciplinary action and termination.
- Conduct exit interviews and make recommendations based on trends or notable comments for advising management for improvement; prepares ROEs.
- Track HR metrics, including turnover, recruitment, performance evaluations.
- Maintain employee records.
- Participate and support OSH and Safety Management Systems
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Requirements:
- University or College degree in Human Resources and 5+ years’ experience in an HR generalist role (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.)
- Experience with the Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code, and Pay Equity Act
- Experience in the interpretation of collective agreements, related regulations, and laws, demonstrated experience in related human resources functions.
- Experience with Federal legislation
- Experience with Ontario legislation
- Superior knowledge of MS Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint), and ADP systems
- As travel, may be required (including possibly international travel), a valid Canadian passport will be required.
- As our operations span 4 time zones, work schedule flexibility is essential.
Preferences:
- HR designation (currently held or in progress)
- Previous experience in the Airline/Aviation fields
- Experience with ADP Systems

Salary: $55,182.00-$69,890.06 per year
