Job Description
The Site Human Resource (HR) Manager supports company Vision by demonstrating the company Values and Covenants in all functional, company wide, customer, and third-party interactions and communications.
The Site HR Manager is responsible for directing the planning, development, implementation, and administration of the site HR group. In collaboration with senior and project leaders, the Site HR Manager is responsible to provide guidance to the project and to company to operate within the appropriate provincial and federal employment laws and to limit the company’s risk of exposure.
Location: Leroy, Saskatchewan
Rotation: 5 days on (Monday - Friday), 2 days off
Responsibilities include:
- Directs the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs from a project perspective.
- Develops and implements Human Resources initiatives and strategies in alignment with the project and with the overall corporate business plan.
- Serves as primary contact for project leaders on matters such as new employee integration, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, compensation, departures, and other operational human resources matters.
- Identifies and understands local external market trends (economic, political, social) and derive insights to drive effective a long-term ER environment.
- Works with managers to ensure all staff have annual performance development plans. Identify training requirements and design learning and goal development to enable all team members to grow in their roles and careers, through a mix of internal and external available resources.
- Promotes effective interpersonal communication and successful conflict resolution.
- Develops and maintains a culture of learning, performance, and innovation.
- Acts as a change agent for organizational structure on the project; provides Human Resources and change management advise on organizational changes within the assigned project, in conjunction with the Corporate Human Resources Manager.
- Actively coaches, counsels, and supports project and business leaders to advise and influence human capital strategies and identify gaps and opportunities that impact business results.
- Participates in Project Leadership Team meetings to contribute and advise on HR matters.
- Works with other partner organizations and participates in HR Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings.
- Leads the implementation of initiatives and processes which emphasize a performance-based culture.
- Provides reports to project leadership and uses Human Resources indicators to assist in decision making.
- Participates in conducting workplace investigations and risk management assessment.
- Maintains legal compliance and collaborates with Legal and Risk Management and Ethics and Compliance Officer on sensitive HR matters.
- Provides leadership to the project HR Advisor and project HR Coordinator, including planning, assigning, and directing work and ensures direct reports are meeting performance expectations through monitoring, mentoring, coaching and training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field; diploma in Human Resources and/or in-depth experience within a business-facing HR role.
- 10+ years of progressive HR work experience with 3+ years in managerial roles preferably gained within an Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management (EPCM) environment or from an Energy, Mining & Metals, Power or Infrastructure background.
- A working knowledge of employment standards in Saskatchewan. Experiences in additional jurisdictions such as Alberta / British Columbia and Ontario will be considered as an asset.
- Chartered Canadian Professional of Human Resources (CPHR) is considered as an asset.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills and serves as a role model for others.
- Strong relationship management and consulting skills to cultivate positive and effective relationships with project teams and other key stakeholders.
- Strong people leader with proven track record of developing talent.
- Exceptional communication and strong presentation skills.
- Excellent judgment and strategic mind set.
- Exceptional personal integrity and business ethics, driven by high performance standards.
