Our Senior Manager HR Governance and Administration will play a lead role in the development, and implementation of our HR Governance and Administration strategy, providing a sustainable framework to ensure compliance with all HR regulatory and legal obligations. This includes both policy review and development, as well as process development and documentation, supported by robust change, communication and education programs, developed in collaboration with our Organizational Effectiveness and Talent teams. In addition to creating policies and procedures, the role is also responsible for regular compliance tracking, auditing and reporting.

Your roles and responsibilities:
- Leads the development and maintenance of policies and procedures relevant to the HR Governance Program, and its related activities, to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
- Manages the day-to-day operation of the Program in collaboration with the HR Operations, HR Talent and Compensation and Benefits teams.
- Develops, periodically reviews, and updates policies and procedures to ensure continuing applicability and relevance for guidance to management and employees.
- Conducts periodic internal reviews to assess compliance to procedures. Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
- Collaborates with other departments (e.g., Regulatory Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution. Consults with the legal counsel as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues.
- Institutes and maintains an effective governance communication program for the organization, to ensure heightened awareness of policies and procedures, as well as to create understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures.
- Prepares reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested.
- Provide assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews.
- Works with others as appropriate to develop an effective governance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.
- Monitors the performance of the Governance Program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.

Education and experience
- Undergraduate Degree in Legal or related field
- 7+ years in an HR related field. Project Management an asset
- Team player, tactful, ability to engage in constructive dialogue, ability to manage and direct people as required. Strong communication skills. Action oriented and results driven.
- Specialization in employment law or strong HR operational background, Canadian and U.S.
- Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resource procedures and regulations.
