The Sr Regional HR Manager position will have business responsibility in a region which will include manufacturing operations across multiple product lines . The primary focus will be on supporting an employee centric culture which drives manufacturing outcomes through our employee experience to attract and retain critical talent.
Provides leadership and critical support for plant HR team members in HR service delivery and will be the point of escalation for employee relations, labor relations interpretation/resolution, escalated workplace investigations, supports local plants teams to develop strategic labour relations mandates for example recommendation to unlock business flexibility to service our customers. Collaborates across business units to share and bring best practices to the business . Support the development of a new Operations Leadership team in Kaycan
Talent Management:This position will partner with the Operation leaders to create and/or execute regional talent management programs for example early career programs and lead the annual manufacturing annual people review process end to end,
People Engagement: HR lead to partner with operations leadership on engagement action planning this will be accomplished through facilitation of meetings, communicating the process, providing insights and dashboards on action plan progress. Identify strategic community relations competency; with a focus on developing a pool of future manufacturing talent
Talent Acquistion & Governance associated with recruitment
Forecast recruitment needs hourly/salaried for operations, review existing spend to formulate plan how to attract, source talent. Participate in the interview selection process for key Manufacturing leadership roles.

Manufacturing Organizational and Talent Development
- Partner with regional business leaders to identify and prioritize key organizational capabilities, behaviors and processes needed to achieve business results.
- Coaches and develops plants HR on the optimal use of CI pillar tools to assess skill competency, analyze gaps and create plans to close gaps.
- Conducts workforce planning, organizational assessments and reviews succession planning with plant leadership to create robust development, cross functional opportunities to reduce voluntary turnover. Regularly monitors progress to ensure plans are executed.
- Collaborates with plant, HR and Operations leadership to identify internal and external resources to address gaps in skills and capabilities needed for the effective and efficient operation of the manufacturing and distribution operations.
- Works with regional and business leadership to ensure appropriate funding for organizational & talent development with a solid ROI to achieve business goals.
Requirements
Employee Engagement development and Leadership for HR Managers -Manufacturing
- Works with plants and leadership to understand HR KPI key drivers and critical path for continuous improvement to achieve business results.
- Informs on corporate HR initiatives to align and if necessary adapt for region specific HR initiatives which promote an engaged culture where employees choose to use their discretionary time and effort to maximize business success.
- Works across the groups to create and implement performance management systems and processes (one-on-one coaching, streamlined investigation templates and progressive behavior management programs) which reflect the culture, employee well-being and employee experience that make CertainTeed a great place to work.
- Ensures cross plant training, optimal processing efficiency and business continuity support for operational HR duties ( vacation coverage etc.) within the Region.
- Works with corporate Total rewards and compensation team to understand wage and benefit structures within the region to ensure - competitive analysis job banding, skill and comp progression structures in all manufacturing and field functions, on-going market wage analysis to be used proactively for employee retention.
- Collaborates with manufacturing leadership teams, to develop and implement employee communications processes and systems which create a well informed and engaged workforce. (from local town hall meetings to pre-shift huddles, benefits enrollment, LiveWell, Safety and EHS days etc.)
- Lead, support, develop region HR team - Develop short- and long-range objectives, challenging goals, workload balancing initiatives to ensure an engaged, agile and business impactful HR team within the region
Process Development, and Management:
- Ensures region wide proficiency and execution of employee absence programs… including STD, LTD,
- Is an active participant in the SG safety culture
- Fully understands the SGC H&S standards and how they relate to creating a systemic plant safety culture.
What do you bring?
Education/Experience:
- BA/BS in related field.
- At least 8 + years’ experience working in a manufacturing or high volume distribution operations facility
- 10 + years of progressive experience and leading teams in Human Resources with a background in working effectively with labour unions

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
- Solid business acumen to support the translation of must-win battles into group wide regional and plant HR processes which will support the businesses in achieving results through an engaged and participatory workforce.
- Good Safety understanding, some experience/exposure with OSHA and knows the SG Safety Standards
- Experience working with both union and non-union workforces
- Must be able to flex hours to support 24-7 operations
- Approximately 35% Travel
