This Fall Internship is from September through December 15th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work at least 10-29 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This is not a remote role. A hybrid work option may or may not be available.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
TV Distribution
The TV Distribution team is responsible for driving revenue from SPT film and television content to linear, SVOD, AVOD, and FAST television clients from across Canada in both English and French.
Sales Planning
The Sales Planning team is responsible for all deal management functions (e.g., managing rights, licensing terms, exclusivity, financial terms, execution, and approval of license agreements, etc.) for all media in Canada. They will act as a hub of information and assist in workflows between Sales Planning, Legal, Materials Delivery Team, Finance, IT, and Home Office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Profiles:
Assist the Sales Team with an analysis of partner platforms and schedules and summarize content being programmed by service, key premieres and titles, and curatorial trends.
Support the TV Marketing Team to embed partner platform and linear channel research into to pre-designed slides for sales/marketing SharePoint folders
Platform Audits: Track the merchandising of Sony content on AVOD / SVOD / FAST partner platforms and summarize collection strategy, advertising placement and other observations to support future sales activity.
Availability Lists: Using internal rights management systems, generate lists of available content for clients.
Material Database: Compile a data resource to track available delivery materials (eg. language versions, DV, SD/HD, etc.) and specific rights restrictions gathered from internal systems.
Overnights (Ratings): Compile daily linear overnight ratings and distribute to internal stakeholders.
Physical Files: In collaboration with Sales Planning, sort legacy physical contract and client files and collaborate with internal stakeholders on archiving or purging.
TV Marketing:
Manage Software Updates: Manage Team Software Updates (Airtable) on Marketing/Sales-related information: for e.g. update master sales/marketing contact lists, add historical client tracking information (i.e. client gifting).
Utilize Data for Pre-Sales Presentations: Assist Marketing by facilitating discussions with internal research teams to utilize data in support of pre-sales pitches.
Convert Audience Fandom and support TVD clients: In collaboration with the U.S. Global Data Solutions team and local SPT marketing, help drive Canadian audiences to take the next best action for SPE by scaling the SPE Youtube channel CTA’s and link out to Canadian SPT clients/accounts. Draft list of Canadian channels/streaming platforms and their respective CTA’s to share with SPE Global Data Solutions Team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Pursuing a degree in entertainment, business, strategy, finance or a related field
Demonstrable knowledge of and interest in the Canadian television and digital platform landscape
Familiarity with entertainment business models
Understanding of general product strategy
Knowledge of database systems in particular AirTable or an equivalent
Exceptional facility with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Passion for film and television content
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with multiple levels of management
Ability to influence process improvement and innovation
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize successfully
Self-motivated and dedicated to performing above expectations
