Job Description BCIT’s School of Business is seeking a regular full-time Marketing Coordinator. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies and the publication of School of Business + Media marketing products and services. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications (MARCOM) and Web Services teams, and the academic departments within the School, the Marketing Coordinator also co-ordinates special events, and maintains web and social media presence.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:General:In conjunction with the manager, develops proactive and strategic business partnerships within the School to develop marketing and communications programs and initiativesAssists in the design and implementation of annual marketing programs that align to the institutional planExplores and recommends new technologies and best practices that advance the quality and value of social media interactions and client communication.Meets regularly with key contacts and attends meetings within the school and departmentsMonitors the effectiveness of products and services on a regular basis; brings forward recommendations, responds to client needs as they ariseConducts interviews with stakeholders, clients, students and external customers to support and/or enhance the marketing and communication planning activities and initiatives.Researches and advises on costs and alternative methods of increasing cost effectivenessReviews, researches and puts forward recommendations to improve marketing procedures,standards and protocolsOversees and coordinates the documentation process for all school marketing and publication initiatives and activities including developing project plans, setting milestones, deliverables and outcomesAssesses, analyses and supports the implementation of newly developed products and services, revises departmental processes and initiates training as requiredSocial Media MarketingActs as publisher for the school’s website; uses content management system to design, write, test and launch web or landing pages for event promotion and updatesImproves page ranking and search results using current technology such as organic search engine optimization (SEO) and social media optimization (SMO) techniquesCoordinates traditional and non-traditional media content.
