GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Content Marketing Coordinator is a passionate storyteller with a talent for creating inspiring and engaging content and expertise in social media. As part of the Marketing team, the Content Marketing Coordinator develops and implements content marketing tactics and campaigns, which will focus on creating active social communities, influencing online conversations, developing compelling content that drives engagement, listening to and responding to community feedback, building relationships and analyzing and reporting on results.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create inspiring and engaging content for various platforms including social media
- Engaging and clear website and marketing material copywriting
- Work collaboratively to develop marketing strategies that promote the RRC’s strategic priorities, vision & mission
- Lead day-to-day management of external websites and social media accounts
- Planning and management of the content calendar
- Plan, implement, manage, coordinate and execute social media programs & initiatives
- Monitor social media sites and coordinate response with internal resources
- Write, post and promote content that encourages customer participation & community engagement
- Analyze external marketplace, industry trends and customer conversations
- Identify, interpret, monitor and capitalize on social media trends as well as provide new social media strategy recommendations
- Understand our brand and customers to ensure copy meets the marketing strategy and reflects our brand
- Analyze, report, and develop recommendations for optimizing strategies and tactics.
- Handle tasks related to communication, digital media, data management, event coordination, project management, & sales
- Translate content creation and marketing strategies into creative direction for digital & print media content
- Steward the email marketing program
- Ensure content creation, production & execution timelines are met
- Monitor progress of projects & provide continuous communication to the team regarding on-going project status updates
- Interact with web developers, graphic designers, photographers, vendors & suppliers to complete collateral projects
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
- A background in marketing and communication developed through a combination of education & experience
- Completion of a degree or diploma in a related field
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong content creation skills, including utilizing photography and videography
- Demonstrated understanding of existing and emerging social media platforms, tools for optimization and industry trends
- In-depth understanding of how to grow engagement across multiple channels and activate them via more than just promotions
- Experience creating a variety of content
- Comfortable working with a team in a fast paced environment, and ability to prioritize/meet deadlines within specific time constraints
- Strong English, editorial, and creative writing skills
- Excellent research, proofreading, and editing skills
- Excellent networker with ability to collaborate, motivate, and influence others
- Must be able to roll up your sleeves—this is a hands-on position as well as a strategic one.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
This position may require travel between our various facilities within the Wood Buffalo Region. Access to reliable transportation is necessary.- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License Required
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires full time work and a flexible schedule including statutory holidays, early morning, late night, and weekend work.- Work primarily indoors in a standard office environment, with some outdoor event coverage or promotion.
- Work requires sedentary work in a climate controlled office environment using standard office equipment and frequent travel and meetings off site. Office environment can be busy with frequent interruptions and regular meetings with external stakeholders.
- This position may include heavy lifting of supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs.
