Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: The position does not require an employee to be onsite full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility, or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

We are looking for a software development intern to be responsible for the development and maintenance of platform of Android based information and entertainment (Infotainment) system. You will be working along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the information and entertainment system!
Participate in all regular software development activities
Translate designs into high quality Android base Java code
Participate in maintenance of existing codes and bug fixes
Participate in code and test case reviews
Provide clear and complete documentation based on the definition of the software development process
Co-work with team members in software development activities using the Scrum/Agile development process
Required Qualifications:
Pursuit of a Bachelor's (3rd or 4th year) or Master's (Preferred) degree in one of the following areas: Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science
Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada and for 12-month term (3 consecutive semesters) starting September 2023
Knowledge of Android AOSP and the libraries available for common tasks, design principles, and interface guidelines
Android Application development experience
Development experience with Java and Kotlin
Knowledge of SCM tools such as: GIT, JIRA, etc
Knowledge of Scrum/Agile development process and concept of continuous integration
What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience of vehicle communication protocol (CAN), Android Automotive, and System UI
Knowledge of Android SDK and how to deal with different screen sizes

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience

Excellent project management skills and the proven track record to manage numerous projects at any given
Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Fundamental digital literacy including understanding of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
