Emergency preparedness is a critical aspect of CCH operations. It is essential that all staff and physicians receive training and understand their roles and responsibilities in this field.
Reporting to the Senior Director Community Addiction & Mental Health Services (CAMHS), the Manager, Child & Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS), provides leadership and direction for all programs associated with CYMHS. The Manager is responsible for monitoring the budget of the programs and is directly accountable for clinical and administrative supervision of assigned clinical staff and CYMHS Supervisor. The Manager has advanced training and supervision in the delivery of psychotherapy to clients experiencing issues with addiction, mental health, trauma and concurrent disorders. The Manager is accountable for the quality of services and for ensuring the programs operate within a best practice approach. The Manager supports the work of the CYMHS Lead Agency portfolio, and is required to participate in local, regional, and provincial committees, including Ministry of Health initiatives that promote mental health & addiction supports within the community.
- Master’s Degree (MSW, Master’s in Counselling, other related Health care discipline)
- Registration with a College that is authorized to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy
- Minimum 5 years’ extensive clinical experience in the treatment of Addiction, Mental Health and Concurrent Disorders
- Supervisory experience in a clinical setting
- Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation on a regular basis
- Functional level in oral French
Asset:
- Previous supervisory/management experience of an inter-professional team in a unionized environment
- Extensive experience in providing services to children, youth and their families experiencing concerns related to mental health and concurrent disorders
- Completion of directed learning in providing clinical supervision
- Familiarity with key legislation and salient publications such as the Ontario Mental Health Act, Roadmap to Wellness, Moving on Mental Health.
- Familiarity with Health Quality Ontario Quality Standards related to the treatment of addiction, mental illness & concurrent disorders
- Knowledge of the issues affecting individuals, families, caregivers and communities (e.g., poverty, unemployment, stigma, isolation)
- Demonstrated clinical and administrative leadership skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of persons with addiction, mental health and concurrent disorders living in the community
- Knowledge of community services and the ability to foster effective service linkages and partnerships
- Ability to hire, train, supervise and retain qualified staff
- Ability to lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work with agencies, hospitals and the broader community
- Ability to prioritize needs and organize work efficiently
- Knowledge of information management and evaluation activities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and relevant electronic medical records system
