Job Description
The Integrated Community Access Program is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to provide manualized psychotherapy (Cognitive Processing Therapy) to individuals experiencing symptoms of traumatic stress. As a key member of the team, you will provide clinical assessment and treatment, consultative and educational services to clients, families, community providers, referral sources and other community partners. You will have demonstrated initiative and creative approaches to challenging situations and will be willing to work collaboratively as the program continues to work towards specialized evidence based services in a learning environment. You will work actively with our referral sources and community partners. As an occupational therapist you will champion the delivery of manualized therapy and play an important role in supporting program evaluation and future research initiatives

Qualifications Required and Preferred - A Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in Occupational Therapy.
- The successful candidate must be registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) in good standing.
- Training and experience using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) with individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
- 3-5 years of recent occupational therapy experience in a mental health facility or service, experience in outpatient settings is preferred.
- Training and/or experience in facilitating psychoeducational groups.
- Understanding and application of Best Practice treatments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the COTO Standards of Practice for occupational therapists.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health, and relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required.
- Current CPR HCP is required
- The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- The candidate will have demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills
- The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
- Must have the ability to perform the physical demands of the position
