Job Description
Family Practice and Walk-In Clinic in Milton is seeking to hire an experienced, friendly Medical Office Receptionist.
The candidate must possess strong communication skills, and computer skills. Excellent customer service skills, organized, responsible, and professional appearance is mandatory.
Duties
- Answer phone calls in priority sequence
- Medical Payment/transactions/refunds
- Greet patients appropriately in a friendly manner
- Checking patients in (OHIP, name, DOB etc)
- Manage and schedule patient appointments and records
- Appointment reminder calls
- Provide patients with appropriate support and guidance
- Facilitate patient flow through the clinic
- Log in patient data into EMR
- Room Patients
- Take vitals
- Prepare rooms for procedures
- Scan, send faxes, filing, photocopying
- External faxing/calling of referrals
- Sorting incoming faxes into appropriate mailboxes/files
- Taking Phone messages and transferring phone messages
- Opening mail/sorting through mail and allocating to appropriate mailboxes
- Filing documents to be scanned
- Filing patient results (scanned)
- OHIP doctors error reports
- Explaining forms (Transfer of records, Roster)
- Filing/scanning patient medical summaries
- Other duties assigned
- Follow COVID protocols
Qualifications
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Min. 1 year prior experience as healthcare receptionist in Canada
- Bilingual (punjabi/urdu/hindi) is a plus
- Billing experience an asset
- Knowledge of ACCURO EMR an asset
- Certification in phlebotomy and/or immunizations an asset
