Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer & Corporate Secretary this position will play a vital role in GCGC’s success by overseeing the contractual aspects of our business operations. The Legal Operations Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and maximizing value from our commercial agreements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, compliance, finance, procurement, and operations, to ensure contract alignment with business objectives and policies;
- Manage the tracking of contract milestones, terms and obligations;
- Monitor contract performance, identify deviations, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and optimize outcomes;
- Participate in contract negotiations with clients, suppliers, and other business partners to achieve favorable terms and conditions;
- Identify and address contract-related issues and concerns, seeking legal support when necessary;
- Ensure contracts reflect the agreed-upon terms, pricing, deliverables, and service levels;
- Conduct risk assessments on proposed contracts and identify potential legal, financial, and operational risks;
- Collaborate with legal counsel to mitigate risks through appropriate contract language and terms;
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards impacting commercial contracts;
- Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory obligations;
- Collaborate with legal counsel to address legal issues, disputes, and contract terminations;
- Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and business partners;
- Serve as a primary point of contact for contractual matters, addressing inquiries and resolving disputes;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve contract-related issues and optimize performance;
- Conduct regular contract reviews and performance evaluations with stakeholders;
- Act as primary contact for vendor registration assessments;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions if necessary;
- Assist the Procurement Department with monitoring contract compliance, service levels, quality, and timeliness of deliverables;
- Ensure proper approval processes are followed for contract modifications;
- Manage contract terminations, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and legal requirements;
- Collaborate with legal counsel to address disputes or disagreements arising from contracts; and
- Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management, team members and regulatory bodies
Education and Qualification Requirements:
- Knowledge of business, compliance, corporate affairs and commercial contracts gained through a suitable combination of education and experience:
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication;
- Advanced computer literacy in MS Office;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and deliver program management;
- Technical writing or experience drafting policy and procedure manuals is an asset;
- Minimum 10 years of experience in executive coordinating or administrative role;
- Knowledge of gaming policies and procedures across Canada;
- Familiarity with government protocol and procedures.
