Exciting Opportunity: Old Mill Marina with facilities located on 1100 feet of stunning frontage on Kawagama Lake, and serving the surrounding area (Dorset/Lake of Bays) in the beautiful Algonquin Highlands is seeking a highly experienced, motivated and collaborative individual to lead our operations and service department. Old Mill Marina has one of the largest, newest, state of the art marine repair shops, indoor heated and non heated storage, marine service, boat repair and docking.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, qualified marine technician capable of performing and overseeing all aspects of the marine repair shop and physical plant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage marina operations
- Perform and oversee all mechanical work in the shop and yard which may include maintenance and repair to equipment normally associated with marina operations such as forklifts, boat trailers, pickups, and other yard/shop equipment.
- Oversee and lead marine technicians and yard assistants.
- Ensure a safe and supportive working environment for employees.
- Collaborate and lead in a team environment.
- Overtime and weekend work will be required during peak season.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Recreational Watercraft required.
- Ability to inspect, diagnose, repair and document marine mechanical and electrical systems, for outboards, inboard/outboard, tow boats, pwc, and any other watercraft normally associated in a marine facility.
- In-depth knowledge of Mercury/Mercruiser and/or Volvo and/or Yamaha and any other manufacture certification preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer proficiency
- Forklift operator certification (preferred)
- Experience in operating and trailering boats
- Skilled Trade Certificate (Preferred)
- Valid G class driver’s licence
- Pleasure Craft Operator Card (Preferred)
