Reporting To: Divisional Controller
Payroll Responsibilities:
· Process and verify weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff for two companies.
· Download files of accurately approved timecard records to payroll system.
· Identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies in timesheets and payroll records.
· Timely and accurate preparation of weekly payroll using ADP WorkForce Now.
· Prepare and submit ROEs, T4s and T4As and other remittances as required within legislated timelines.
· Assist in the administration and reconciliation of employee benefit programs.
· Prepare ad hoc reports as required by Finance or HR.
· Manage all inquiries arising from questions regarding payroll both internally and externally (ie. Service Canada).
· Maintain detailed softcopy records of payroll functions for audit purposes.
· Month end duties.
· Payroll Journal entries, monthly payroll reports for corporate, ad-hoc reports as required.
· Special Projects as assigned.
Accounting and Projects Responsibilities:
· Assist in month-end inventory reconciliations and adjustments in WASP inventory management system.
· Scan cheques for A/R bank deposits.
· Bank Reconciliation or other General Accounting tasks.
· Assist with Accounts Payables/Receivables as required.
· Assist with health and safety projects.
What you offer:
· Payroll experience is required (ADP WorkForceNow preferred).
· Experience with implementation of new Payroll program is an asset.
· Accounts payable experience is an asset.
· Knowledge of payroll and accounting practices and principles.
· Intermediate excel skills.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Superior attention to detail and highly organized providing timely, accurate and complete information.
