Job Description
Duties:
- Process union and admin payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner
- Analyze and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, licenses, and other documents
- Record accounts payable and pay bills with third party processing company
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Report and pay union benefits – communicate with union regarding same
- Prepare and pay payroll taxes
- Complete ROE’s
- Issue year end tax forms including T4’s, T4A, T5018
- Communicate with employees regarding payroll issues
- Update ship’s logs and positions daily
- Assist with purchase orders
- Maintain and update various forms and Word documents
- Ad hoc reporting to officers
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Quickbooks required
- Technical accounting skills, including the ability to analyze financial data and perform calculations accurately
- Experience with accounts receivable / payables
- Proficiency in using payroll in Quickbooks
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with human resources policies and procedures is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint)
- Able to work independently and be self-driven

Pay: $60,000.00-$76,058.00 per year
