Come join the big Transport family, here in Toronto!The Project Procurement Manager (PPM) provides efficient and cost effective purchasing support to Bids and Projects contributing to the profitability/competitiveness of the Procurement work packages. The PPM role is fully integrated within a Bid and Project Team responsible to manage the procurement scope for equipment and subcontracting for delivery within the budget, schedule and at the required quality.The PPM works upstream with the Project team and Category Manager, to develop the Procurement strategy in line with contractual Bid and Project requirements.Key Responsibilities:Bid phaseProcurement Project Manager is responsible for timely and cost-effective provision of supplies and services for projects according to the tender requirements, project schedule, sales forecast, and project costing. The PPM manages and coordinates the interfaces among Bid Management, Engineering and Finance in accordance with company policies and procedures.Work with the Procurement team, to develop the Procurement Strategy and ensure the strategy is in line with tender requirements and communicated within Bids and technical teamDevelopment of the Acquisition Plan to identify how the procurement strategy to be implemented during Project phase, following GTS Procurement Management ProcessParticipate to formulating and implementing the Make/Team/Buy strategy as applicableFocus supply chain costs optimization early in the life cycle ensuring savings are achieved against budget Analyze costs of equipment and systems to identify focus areas or opportunities for reductionDevelop and implement Purchasing Savings Opportunities plan (competitiveness plan)Identify Procurement/Suppliers Risks and develop mitigation plans.Collaborate with and influence Technical team for the Design choices, including methodology for achieving the design release schedule and savings.Risk management pertaining to Goods & Services including assessment, mitigation and KPIs documenting convergence of risks to a satisfactory levelProject executionProject execution through implementation of the Acquisition Project Plan: ensures convergence of risks, cost and lead times within the specified quality parameters and engage corrective action for any deviations to plan with minimal supervision on assigned projectsDevelopment of the Acquisition Plan to identify how the procurement strategy would be implemented across the Project, based on a reviewed and agreed company Subcontract Management Process that is appropriate for the Project.Coordination of Sourcing/Contracting activities in support of the Project work package requirementsReview package progress and performance formally with GTS Family purchasing team and ensure issues are tracked, managed and escalated as requiredDevelop and implement Purchasing Savings Opportunities plan (competitiveness plan)Conduct and contribute to the Post Mortem Analysis (lessons learned) for the Acquisition work packages in the ProjectKey Requirements:B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Engineering or equivalent relevant degree10 + years’ experience in a project-based organization, Project Management experienceExcellent communication and presentations skillsMaintain and demonstrate superior interpersonal written and oral skills in daily relations, negotiations, and reportingMaintain complete and effective lines of communication with Bids, Projects and senior managementReport on a regular and periodic basis achievements, issues and goalsA strategic thinker who has the ability to work innovatively with sometimes-unclear briefs; a persistent and tenacious high achiever, with the ability to quickly learn new skills and concepts with the desire to become a future specialist, managerPreferred Qualifications:Ability to interface well and influence effectively at all levels including internally and externally with customers, partners and suppliersA strategic thinker who has the ability to work innovatively with sometimes-unclear briefs; a persistent and tenacious high achiever, with the ability to quickly learn new skills and concepts with the desire to become a future specialist, manager or leader.Self starter, able to work with little supervision#LI-Hybrid#LI-WN1Thales is required to follow mandatory customer policies as well as Federal and Provincial legislation, now and in the future.
