Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager, Employment & Partnership Development, the Student Employment Programs Coordinator is responsible for administering campus awareness promotional activities and other specialized services to support on-campus recruitment of Carleton students such as information sessions and employer panels. This includes acting as liaison to Alumni Services to coordinate, grow and promote the Alumni Connections program, the administration and growth of the On-Campus job board within the Orbis system and the administration of the Work/Study program. The incumbent will also be responsible for developing and implementing a job shadow program.
Qualifications:The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- Able to represent the University appropriately to current and potential employers, members of the University community, and individual student and alumni members.
- General knowledge of the University, faculties and program curricula is required, along with specific knowledge on employment procedures and regulations.
- Able to promote Carleton students and alumni and the benefits of a Carleton University education and the co-operative education program to employer both on and off campus.
- Computer literate and able to use email, database, word-processing, contact management and spread sheet software.
- Able to exercise good judgment in setting priorities and balancing deadlines.
- Ability to relate to clients (students, alumni and employers) and colleagues, identify needs and to provide appropriate assistance, as well as good planning, organizational, analytical and research skills are essential to this position.
Education and Experience:The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
- Four-year honours degree.
- 3 years of relevant experience in implementing and developing student employment support programs.
- Experience in sales, marketing and/or recruitment.
- Experience with contact/customer relationship management databases is an asset.
