TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT: Approximately 52 weeks
POSITION SUMMARY:
Working within a team environment, the Sr. Project Analyst is responsible for the implementation of recommendations and strategies within parameters defined by the Project Manager and/ or Senior Project Manager.
The Sr. Project Analyst works with minimal supervision, schedules and prioritizes the work assigned to him/her, and is responsible for completing assignments and/or for conducting routine to moderately complex tasks within the Clinical Transformation Project. The Sr. Project Analyst may also act as a coach and guide in overseeing the activities of junior team members.
Becomes an integral member of the project team implementing the Clinical Transformation project by:
- Documenting clinical and business processes, and other tasks assigned by the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager
- Developing expert knowledge of the new solution, understanding the workflows, people, roles and technology for their assigned area of the project
- Works closely with Subject Matter Experts to document the gaps between the current clinical and business processes and the processes supported by the new solution
- Designing new clinical and business processes that enable the hospital and its clinicians, Physicians and staff to be successful using the new solution
The work of the Sr. Project Analyst work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Health Informatics or recognized equivalent
- 3 to 5 years' experience in Related business/systems analyst experience is required
- Valid Canadian Passport
- Ability to travel to USA
- Sound project management knowledge and experience working on projects and/or sound working knowledge of applications/systems that support client groups, in such areas as Health Care, Pharmaceutical, Finance, Human Resources, Telecommunications, etc., are also required.
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Clinical background an asset.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication required for frequent intra organizational and customer/vendor contacts.
- Ability to effectively translate detail into verbal, written or graphical updates and/or abstracts.
- Ability to determine appropriate method of communication based on information to be communicated, the audience and the urgency of the communication.
- Ability to communicate technical procedures in a clear and precise manner to non-technical staff and to communicate effectively with outside vendors/customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Project Analyst is responsible to support all project activities related to the selection and implementation of information systems and technology and working with minimal supervision typically be assigned to any one or more of the following tasks to complete or to oversee:
- Coordinates with users to review aspects of current business process to determine requirements/ specifications. This includes obtaining signoff from Subject Matter Experts on the to-be business processes and on the detailed requirements.
- Conducts workflow and process redesign activities.
- Analyzes, assesses, and documents customer requirements – produces written abstracts.
- Identifies information and data requirements necessary to define solutions.
- Facilitate design sessions with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Creates, maintains and monitors execution of the project documentation, using the frameworks defined in the Project Management Office’s SharePoint information system.
- Works with the data analyst(s) to configure the application in development, QA and production environments.
- Works with the infrastructure analyst(s) to configure the hardware and to support the deployment for training, testing, and production.
- In cases where new business processes cannot be designed to exactly fit the vendor recommended best practices, is responsible to document the gaps, create a strategy to bridge the gap, obtain approval for any necessary customizations, and monitor development and testing of the customization.
- Develops test scripts and test plans to ensure that the application behaves as per the detailed requirements. Assist with testing as required.
- Obtains signoff from Subject Matter Experts on system functionality after successful completion of the test scripts and test plans.
- Supports the Project Manager in preparing the readiness assessment for go-live.
- Supports the delivery and production support of the new system, until it commissioned to ongoing support.
- Assists with the identification of training needs, and translating them into practical courses and programs. Assist with training as required.
- Makes recommendations with respect to related policies and procedures.
- Defines metrics for measuring the success of the initiative to be undertaken.
- Produces status reports regarding assignments they are working on.
- Escalates issues and schedule deviations that may jeopardize project success.
- Transfers knowledge of the new system and business processes to the user support team.
- May provide technical advice and training to Project Analysts but has no "people management" responsibilities
