Position Overview
The Project Controls Coordinator is responsible for project monitoring, providing the CAPEX Project management, with information on the scope, progress, costs, forecast completion, and ultimate spending while actively managing project risks.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Visible leadership and strong support for Safety, Health and Environmental principles including Life Saving Rules, policies and procedures- Develop and manage the projects schedules, the Project milestone, critical path , and recovery plan when is required
- Work closely with the Project Managers to maintain and update the master project schedule and develop the project progress, forecasting future work and criticalities.
- Produce weekly/monthly reports, including providing details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances. Review KPI’s and drive sustainable improvements
- Work with the Project Managers to identify, monitor and manage the Risk / Opportunity in terms of project cost and timing in order to have an accurate estimate forecast.
- Use planning software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project (MSP) to develop master schedule for interface milestones, activities, activity durations and project progress monitoring systems.
- Create the project budgets based on the team's estimates, analyse the spending to date and forecast to go, deal with cash flow, and payment applications, monitor timesheets, and make accruals, interacts with the Corporate Accounting, and the corporate system JDE, SAP
- Act as coordinator from all the process areas into a project master plan which effectively utilizes site resources to achieve budget targets
- Drive long-term planning through schedule development and sustainability
- Support, demonstrate and facilitate the concepts of continuous improvement and learning
- Participate in regular meetings as required
- Utilize demonstrated best industry practices, techniques, and standards throughout the project execution.
- Site visits as required
- Performs other job duties as designated by management.
Other Requirements
Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills.- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
- Occupational Health and Safety knowledge.
- Computer literate in all MS Office software and specific applications
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Travel up to 50% as needed on the job site
Experience
5 or more years of experience working on projects in heavy construction and/or process
industry.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, mining, or related discipline.
