Job Description
The incumbent assists the Project Management Office (PMO) in ensuring the effective control and governance over IT projects at Transat. The incumbent works closely with project managers, team members, and other key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with the established project management methodology.
Responsibilities
Project Monitoring and Control
- Monitor project progress and performance indicators, identifying issues and deviations from plans.
- Monitor, control, and improve the data quality of the PMO project dashboard.
- Produce project performance and progress indicators.
- Coordinate with project managers and the finance team for the creation of new projects, production of financial and quarterly reports, and project closure.
- Support timesheet reporting activities for IT resources assigned to projects.
- Support resource capacity planning activities in the PMO and other IT teams to deliver the priority projects identified in the digital roadmap.
- Prepare and distribute project reports to respond to requests for information.
Project Management Documentation and Tools
- Administer, maintain, and improve the PMO Hub (project documentation centre).
- Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of PMO tools and templates.
- Provide support to team members on project management processes and tools.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with project managers, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Assist project managers in one or more project execution activities:
- Set up and maintain budget and expense tracking.
- Ensure timesheets are entered accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and document project meetings and workshops.
- Coordinate activities with a project team in support of a project delivery (or manage small projects or sub-projects).
- Project closure and financial reconciliation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or DEC in information technology or in a relevant field.
- Formal training or certificate in project management (a definite asset).
- At least 2 years’ relevant experience working as a PCO or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Structured, organized, detail oriented, and rigorous.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
Bilingual (English and French), spoken and written.
