Position: Project Coordinator (FIN Mentorship)
Term: 35 hours per week – August 2023 – Indefinite
Reports to: Manager, Community Economic Development (CED)

Position Summary
To facilitate the integration of immigrants into the job market through the provision of a wide range of employment-related services. Coordinate and deliver the FIN Mentorship program and support
Interns/Mentees within their government internships and beyond.
Main Responsibilities:
Project Coordination
- Working closely with the CED Manager to implement the project plan in consultation with core partners and stakeholders, ensure strong reporting, evaluation framework, communication strategy, work plan and risk mitigation strategy
- Develop and monitor project deliverables, including designing and implementing the FIN
Mentorship Evaluation framework
- Develop and maintain the project communications plan, including regular presentations and reporting to stakeholder groups
- Create and maintain training modules for remote training service provider organizations (SPOs) across Canada to embed the FIN mentorship model within their agencies
- Engage and retain federal employees as volunteer FIN Mentors to support the interns
- Coordinate stakeholder relationships with the CED Manager to engage funders, community partners, FIN mentors, and interns
- Coordinate program networking events, workshops, and Advisory Committee meetings for input and feedback
- Support regional FIN Program delivery locations to adapt the OCISO FIN Mentorship model to their demographic and organizational structure
- Create guidelines for delivering the FIN Mentorship model including model structure, workflow/activities, best practices, tools, toolkits, and forms to be shared with regional SPOs
- Maintain mentor/mentee database for detailed activity, outcome tracking and reporting
- Provide updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting to the FIN Mentorship CRM
- Coordinate Ottawa Connector Program within FIN Mentorship
Administration
- Ensure ongoing communication with FIN Funders and partners as needed
- Develop and track project budget
- Assist with grant writing as needed
- Overall management of client caseload
- Maintain client files as specified
- Ensure safe storage and handling of client information and files
- Submit forms related to financial management
Employment Services to Clients
- Provide employment/career-related information and/or orientation to aid the client in better understanding the larger context and processes
- Match profession-specific mentors and employers with employment-seeking clients within FIN
Mentoring, additionally supports other CED programs during down periods of FIN Mentoring. (To be determined in discussions with the Manager and based on programming requirements)
- Conduct follow-up and evaluation with FIN Interns and Mentors
- Facilitate training and information sessions delivery for mentors and clients/interns
- Make appropriate referrals to community partners
- Ensure high standards of service delivery within an anti-racism and anti-oppression policy framework
- Demonstrate a commitment to OCISO’s culture of respect management approach and anti- racism/anti-oppression policy within the work environment and in the community
Qualifications:
- University degree or college diploma in a related field
- 3+ years of experience in employment support/counselling & labour market integration
- Knowledge of the labour market trends and challenges faced by newcomers to Canada
- Excellent organizational, coordination and presentation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
- Knowledge and experience with mainstream computer applications and database software (e.g.,
Salesforce)

- Fluent in English and French desirable
- Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary and multicultural team environment
Salary & Benefits:
$53, 599 to $54, 672 annually. Comprehensive benefits plan including health, dental, an RRSP plan and a generous leave entitlement.
