Employment Status Full Time Employment Type Regular Job SummaryIn collaboration with colleagues and academic partners, this position is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, administering, and evaluating program review and quality assurance processes. This is a position whose decisions and actions have significant impact on the operations of the Division and the College, as accountability is to internal and external partners.
Specific DutiesProject Leadership:
- Coordinate, in collaboration with the Academic Planning and Quality Assurance liaison and other relevant College partners, the implementation of program review and quality assurance mechanisms, monitoring and documentation.
- Document and report project progress.
- Liaise with department programs (dean, associate dean, program coordinators, faculty) to set up and oversee course and program review projects.
- Organize orientation sessions, educate stakeholders, and provide guidance regarding related processes and procedures.
- Implement and maintain a record-keeping system to track and support Program Review and Quality Assurance Processes.
- In accordance with EDCO policy, coordinate the approval process for new, expedited and/or modified academic programs, and work with program contacts to ensure they are on schedule.
Data Management
- Coordinate with Institutional Research to collect and analyze program data.
- Conduct needs assessments/environmental scans.
- Facilitate gathering course/program feedback from students.
- Analyze feedback data and summarize key findings.
- Analyze and prepare summary reports on previous course/program reviews.
Communication
- Initiate correspondence with academic departments re program review processes and schedules.
- Provide written and oral project updates.
- Write data analysis reports for use in program review decision-making.
- Liaise with external bodies re program review processes, schedules, and required documentation (program review committees, accreditation bodies, etc.).
- Respond to inquiries from faculty and staff working on program review and/or accreditation.
- Maintain operating procedures, manuals, and policies ensuring Program Review and Quality Assurance standards are met.
- Update and maintain highly detailed Course, Program, and Quality Assurance Templates.
- Maintain the College website information to ensure EDCO approved program review and quality assurance materials are up to date, clear, and accessible to the College community.
Other
- Handle a variety of special assignments independently.
- Attend internal and external meetings, communicate with internal and external partners, advise internal and external partners on vision, direction, and opportunities as well as internal and external policies and procedures affecting the work.
- Contribute to a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities.
- Promote a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect for all members of the College community; and
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in business or education (curriculum), or degree or diploma in another field and additional education in curriculum, quality assurance processes, and/or project management, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 3 – 5 years experience in project management, policy development and implementation, quality assurance processes implementation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; written skills must be demonstrated.
- Demonstrated understanding of quality assurance processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects within given timeframes.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage all resources for project completion;
- Proven experience working with industry / business / community partners in education/training;
- Working knowledge of industry, business, and community resources.
- Excellent skills in problem-solving, including the ability to resolve a variety of unusual conditions using both analytical skills and the development of new information on the problem situation.
- Proven ability to exercise organizational and routine supervisory skills;
- Ability to work with continuous interruptions and to coordinate activities within the work of the unit;
- Ability to work independently and meet extremely demanding work schedules and deadlines;
- Proven ability to maintain positive working relationships (internally and externally) in an extremely demanding environment, to work with tact and diplomacy.
- Proven skills in investigation and research.
- Utilization of appropriate technological resources.
