Job Description
- Lead construction and manufacturing projects from start to finish with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to complete projects effectively
- Demonstrate understanding of industry construction codes and specifications
- Responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification
- Ensure all resources and materials are available and allocated appropriately
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, inspection and test plans, manufacturing and quality plans, and track progress while managing changes affecting designs, schedules, and costs
- Report and continue effective communication with project stakeholders
- Prepare or review contracts and negotiate changes with architects, engineers, inspectors, consultants, contractors, government agencies, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Perform risk management and demonstrate safe practices
- Establish and maintain dynamic client and vendor relationships
- Delegate tasks with procedural guidance and professional follow up
- Establish targets and execute plans through to achievement
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 license and reliable transportation
- Minimum 40 hours per week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime
- Available to work Monday – Friday, occasional Saturday
- Knowledge of how to read and interpret engineered drawings is required
- Proficient in both verbal and written English communication
- Attentive to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task are required
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Projects & Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required
- Must be able to work with computers and learn new software
- Local or willing to relocate to Central Alberta
Assets
- Proven work experience as a project coordinator or manager in the construction industry considered
- A degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, a college diploma in construction technology, or relevant trades experience
- An understanding of precast concrete or heavy civil construction
