Hepburn Engineering is a successful medium-sized Toronto based company that designs, builds and commissions heavy lifting equipment including mine hoists and replenishment-at-sea transfer systems for customers around the world. Job Summary:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects. The Project Manager will lead cross-functional project teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The Project Manager plays a critical role in driving project success, coordinating resources, and ensuring effective communication among team members.
Responsibilities:
- Develop project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Work with cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities are defined and understood.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring tasks are completed according to schedule, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
- Identify project risks and develop supplier management and mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on project timelines, budget, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations.
- Communicate with department managers to coordinate resources effectively to meet project requirements and optimize resource utilization.
- Monitor project deliverables to ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Assess and manage project scope changes, ensuring appropriate change control procedures are followed.
- Maintain project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
- Conduct project evaluations and capture lessons learned to enhance future project performance and processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with contract management, procurement of capital equipment, including; vendor selection, supplier contract negotiations and supplier management.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address project issues and risks.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Proficiency in MSOffice (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
