Position Summary:
Mountain View is inviting an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join our existing sales team. At present we cover Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls, Water systems and Treatment, Irrigation projects and Agricultural systems. In all of these areas, we design pump and motor designs, lighting concepts, ventilation and comfort, appropriate wiring methods and involving the value in technology management.
This position will report to the senior project Manager. Duties will include estimating of small to medium jobs, communicating with the customer, sales presentation, materials procurement, scheduling, invoicing phases and customer satisfaction follow-up.
Position Responsibilities
- Create accurate takeoffs of design build plans utilizing a firm understanding of Canadian Electrical Code in conjunction with Technical Safety BC directives and information bulletins.
- Create accurate takeoffs of engineered projects with the ability to comprehend job specifications in conjunction with engineered design plans.
- Project/job outlines, contract reviews to identify conditions
- Join in sales strategic planning sessions, with contribution in how we can better serve our customers and improve our relationships with our company teams, suppliers and partner contractors
- Review crew supplied material takeoffs & site pictures, data entry for job costing, and quotation cover letter drafting for management review.
- Project financial agreements and outline for accounting
- Purchase materials and organize equipment needed
- Project management, with physical visits and assisting installation and service teams.
- Provide status reports to Senior project manager and PM dashboard
- Completion of inspection requirements, documentation of finished work, and walk through with team leaders and customer for delivered work agreement.
- As-built completion, project manuals, digital or conventional as required.
- Identify project/job wins and improvement opportunities for upcoming Strategy planning session
Required Competencies
- Skill in project management and estimating required
- Experience with MS Office and good computer skills
- Experienced with Accubid software, Accubid Pro & Change Order
- Very detail oriented
- Strong people skills, involving face to face, online meetings, and identification of team strengths
- Excellent problem solving & critical thinking skills. Be proficient with management systems to organize daily functions and commitments
- Professionalism & adherence to laws and confidentiality guidelines
- Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada.
- Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract (Required).
Salary: $65,000-$85,000 annually with the opportunity to advance financially including career positioning
