The Manager, as part of the Canadian Banking (CB) and Global Wealth Management (GWM) Divisional Project Management Office (DPMO), is responsible for governing the Canadian Banking project portfolio, ensuring the projects are properly following defined enterprise and divisional policies and standard practices.
The Manager position is a key governance and coaching role and will provide guidance to project teams, with a strong focus on guiding the Project Teams. The incumbent is also responsible for the development and continued enhancement of processes and tools.
The incumbent must have demonstrated expertise in providing process and tools advisory in large organizations, preferably in the Financial Services sector.
Strong knowledge of end to end Project Delivery Lifecycle along with hands on experience is a must.
Is this role right for you?
Lead portfolio governance and compliance reviews
a. Monitoring the CB/GWM portfolio compliance to Project Management Policy and Standards
b. Working with Portfolio Directors and PMs to ensure portfolio compliance
c. Driving key KPI Compliance from ALL Projects in CB/GWM Portfolio
d. Reporting compliance levels to Portfolio Directors and other management
e. Recommending and obtaining buy-in on mitigation activities for non-compliance activities
Lead the training and support to projects/programs for Project Governance Policies, Standards and Tools
a. Create and maintain Centralized Delivery Services training/support materials for CB project teams
b. Conduct online/in person training of PMs/PCOs for standards, process and tools
c. Support Portfolio Directors, PMs/PCOs in completing required project compliance tasks to meet the required standards
d. Capture and consolidate feedbacks for coordinating with other areas for improvements
Strong relationship and change management
a. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including CBT portfolio directors, project teams, governance groups, control functions and other Sr Management
b. Practice and advocate change management methods and practices
Departmental management & continuous improvement
a. Build and maintain CDS repositories to keep track of key activities and artifacts (for audit responses)
b. Maintain project related approval and governance records
c. Identify improvement opportunities for the project process, obtain buy-in and lead the change
Manage key CDS reports related for portfolio governance
a. Create and manage key reports repositories, processes and record keeping
b. Support management and other reviews relating to all the CDS governance
Will perform regular job duties while participating as part of the overall team within the department.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
A college or university degree in technology related discipline- Average range of 5+ years demonstrated expertise that includes the following:
- Strong Project Management skills
- Solid business process skills with process documentation and template creation
- Excellent understanding of project delivery functions (project management, requirements, architecture, etc.)
- Demonstrated expertise in providing user training for process and tools
- Proven track record of seeking, learning, and effectively applying process best practices information available from various sources, including documentation, online sources, and the knowledge of other professionals.
- Strong knowledge of the full project delivery lifecycle and/or relevant industry experience
- Strong at hands-on work with technology, and in-depth expertise with key systems and tools used in the bank considered an asset
- Must be proficient with Data and Reporting, and posses expert level skill with MS Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
- This role supports a business line with very aggressive time-lines and demanding users.
- This role interacts with various people in project, user, and production support groups.
- It is essential that the incumbent be proactive, eager to learn, able to work independently and have a 'Can Do' attitude.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, a strong ability to mentor and develop others, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
- Facilitation skills with demonstrated experience in lead discussions and meeting with participants from all levels.
- Effective in prioritizing/managing/delivering multiple competing tasks with tight deadlines
