About the Role:
- Lead the planning and implementation of assigned projects, which includes:
- Facilitating the definition and scope of projects, goals and deliverables.
- Defining project tasks and resource requirements.
- Managing and adhering to project budget and timelines.
- Reviewing and managing bills of material and project deliverables.
- Maintaining quality assurance which includes reviewing specifications, GA drawings and supplier quotes for accuracy.
- Reporting project status to stakeholders and managing expectations
- Conducting project evaluation and results assessment.
- Facilitate project meetings, status updates, and debriefings and support strong collaboration on project execution and effective communications.
- Assign and execute project tasks (including procurement) as needed to ensure that projects are advanced.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Document lessons learned from projects and ensure their use for future projects
Keep informed of developments in project management and investigate new methodologies and tools that may better serve our work.
Promote and train staff in project management methodology and guide staff engaging in project management practices.
Required Experience:
- Engineering degree is considered an asset but industry experience is preferred
- 5 years + of project management experience. Must have PMP certificate.
- Outstanding eye for detail and quality control
- Experience within the municipal water / wastewater industry is an asset.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Experience using an ERP system eg. SAP
