Job Description
Ranchlands Veterinary Clinic is looking for a Receptionist/Tech Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate is energetic, responsible, and willing to learn with a strong passion for caring for animals. We will be requiring someone who is 18 years or older, as it is legally required to help with certain tasks in the clinic. You will play an important role apart of the team supporting the Veterinary Doctor and Technologist, as well as providing administrative assistance. Ranchlands Veterinary Clinic is a fast paced, rewarding, and engaging work environment. We are willing to train the right individual for the position.
Responsibilities
- Sterilize equipment/tools and clean examination tables and rooms
- Assist during examinations/treatments/procedures (radiographs, nail trims, vaccinations, pre-surgical/post-surgical, blood work, anesthesia etc.)
- Soothe upset or anxious animals
- Handle administrative duties such but not limited to scheduling appointments or calling patients in the examination room by priority
- Advise pet owners on nutrition and healthcare according to the doctor's recommendations
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Maintain office policies and procedures
- Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients
Requirements and skills
- Experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in an Admin position is not a requirement but an asset
- Completion of an accredited veterinary assistant program is preferred
- Comfortable being around and handling animals (cats and dogs)
- Patient and caring personality
- Ability to follow instructions and take initiative on clinic tasks as needed
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Working knowledge of office equipment such as printers, scanners, etc.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent communication skills

Salary: $15.00-$16.00 per hour
