SRx Health Solutions Infusion Clinic is a full-service, private practice in Edmonton, AB. We are looking for a responsible and dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team.
This position is responsible for the front office functions of our practice. This includes, but is not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Patient Management:
- Greet and welcome patients, providing a professional and friendly atmosphere.
- Assist patients in completing necessary forms and obtaining required documentation.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and personal information.
- Schedule patient infusion appointments
- Coordinate referrals to specialists, ensuring timely communication and documentation.
Administrative Support:
- Answer phone calls, screen and direct inquiries, and take accurate messages as necessary.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, email, and faxes.
- Maintain an organized filing system for medical records, requisitions, and other relevant documentation.
- Handle and maintain inventory of office supplies, equipment, and medications.
Communication and Coordination:
- Liaise with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective coordination of patient care.
- Communicate with patients regarding appointment reminders and other relevant information.
- Collaborate closely with our Edmonton SRx Pharmacy
Compliance and Privacy:
- Adhere to all applicable healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Maintain knowledge of clinic protocols and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records, following proper documentation guidelines.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and organized office environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Proven experience as a medical office assistant or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance processes.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other office software applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to collaborate and assist others when needed.
