We have an immediate requirement for a Human Resources/Recruitment Advisor to join our HR team for a one year term assignment with possible extension, located on-site at our Jansen Discovery Lodge near Jansen, Saskatchewan. This 1200 guest workforce accommodation camp serves employees and contractors of BHP’s Jansen potash mine. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who brings initiative, flexibility and a strong base of full-cycle recruiting and HR generalist experience to this exciting and challenging opportunity.
The HR/Recruitment Advisor will be the local HR resource for one our largest camp services operation. Supported by the HR team in Calgary, this position is responsible for partnering with the site leadership team for site specific recruitment, employee and labor relations, performance/talent management, and HR program/project implementation.
LOCATION
Jansen, SK
Flexible to enable hybrid work and commuting on weekdays from surrounding communities or rotational live-in arrangement at the Lodge.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build partnerships with leaders to understand the business requirements of client group and provide end-to-end recruitment services, advice and support in a variety of human resources functions
- Enhance workforce engagement through effective employee relations. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with management and employees to promote harmonious working relationships in the interests of both the company and its employees
- Build relationships with external stakeholders to enable effective recruitment from the local area
- Investigate and address employee relations issues
- Provide consultation to managers and supervisors in addressing performance concerns through disciplinary/non-disciplinary action as appropriate
- Administration and coordination of new hires’ pre-employment requirements such as Security Clearances, Alcohol and Drug testing with candidate and external vendor
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3- 5 years of progressive experience in similar roles;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including, written, verbal and presentation;
- Sound organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills and ability to manage multiple priorities;
- Excellent conflict resolution skills;
- Experience with Oracle HR applications is an asset;
- Ability to work independently and adapt and change to business requirements.
- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources or related course work complemented with 3 or more years of experience in an HR or recruitment role. A combination of education and experience may be considered;
- Preference will be given to candidates who have a CPHR designation or are pursuing their designation.
