Financial Reporting Analyst
We are currently seeking a highly qualified candidate to fulfill a pivotal role within the finance department of a Professional Service Firm situated in downtown Toronto. This position holds significant importance and will primarily entail responsibilities related to finance and reporting. Key areas of focus include financial reporting, data consolidation, financial analysis, financial planning, and modeling.
Primary Responsibilities
- Actively engage in month-end and quarter-end processes, preparing comprehensive financial report packages for the organization.
- Construct or update various financial models or datasets to facilitate data-driven analysis and decision-making.
- Lead weekly and monthly management reporting, providing insightful commentary and guidance to drive appropriate actions.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports, including variance analysis, to support cash position monitoring (cash flow forecasts).
- Collaborate with other teams in a coordinated environment to address system-related issues and participate in implementation testing.
- Perform in-depth analysis of firm costs and expenses, assisting in the planning and forecasting process for various enabling areas.
- Proactively drive key initiatives by identifying areas for improvement and developing tools to enhance analysis, tracking, and presentation.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or any analytics related program along with a relevant professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA).
- New Graduate welcome but prefer a minimum of 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in a finance role within a fast-paced matrix environment, supporting multiple stakeholders.
- Advanced skill in Excel, including efficiently handling large data sets and delivering concise summary reports/dashboards for executives; data analysis and modeling within Excel which enables insightful financial analysis and forecasting; ability to use advanced Excel functions and formulas to streamline processes and enhance productivity
- Familiarity with SQL scripting is an asset.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with a solid understanding of business fundamentals and financial acumen. Proficiency in creating impactful PowerPoint presentations is essential.
- Experience with Aderant and BI tools(SSRS or Power BI,etc), is preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to fluently communicate in multiple languages being an advantage.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage competing priorities within an agile setting.
Salary Range: 55k to 65k
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
