Job Description
The Sports Medicine team within the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking an energetic, motivated, and experienced individual to perform clinical research activities in a dynamic and collegial environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Masters degree with at least one year of research experience outside of graduate school. PhD applicants with relevant experience are also welcome to apply.
Preference will be given to those with some experience in research, statistics, epidemiology and/or programming. This position requires you to have proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint). Knowledge of statistical software (e.g., SPSS), data management, data mining and working with large databases would be an asset. Experience preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals is preferred. The applicant will have the following attributes:

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assess overall data quality by overseeing data input, developing and performing audits for data quality ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Perform data entry and maintain research databases which include patient demographics and surgical assessment test scores
- Interact with patients with sports-related orthopaedic injuries
- Assist with patient screening, recruitment and consent, scheduling subject appointments, handling necessary paperwork, data entry and will also be trained to review papers for publication in medical journals.
- Assist with coordinating colleagues/students/fellows rotating through the sports medicine fellowship program
- Function as part of a patient-focused team of professionals
- Triage patient phone calls as well as calls from families, and other departments with diplomacy and courtesy, ensuring the appropriate personnel are notified of the phone message
- Protect and maintain participant confidentiality at all times
- Support the staff, processes, and technology to work in harmony ensuring accuracy and completeness of data quality and analysis
- Interact with a range of health professionals and support staff, through exchange of information, consulting, problem solving and training as required.
- Prepare and submit manuscripts for publication in orthopaedic journals
