Faculty/Department Faculty of Arts Unit Arts-Psychology Employee Group CUPE 2419 CUPE 5791 Job Family Category Student Number of Vacancies 1 Position SummaryResearch assistant will work in the Online Therapy Unit for Service Education and Research. This unit is coordinating and evaluating the delivery of Internet-delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (ICBT) in Canada. ICBT involves patients reviewing psychoeducational materials over the internet and therapists providing support and directing therapeutic activities via secure messaging. The assistant will be involved in assisting Online Therapy Unit staff with activities that support ICBT service delivery (e.g., advertising ICBT, reviewing and editing ICBT course material) as well as research related to ICBT (e.g., preparation of ethics applications and recruitment of participants) and other related responsibilities. This job is ideal for a student that is in the final years of their degree and is seeking exposure to research and clinical work that would help prepare the student for future graduate work or applied jobs. Supervision and Training will be provided in this position.Position Requirementsa) Working towards an undergraduate degree in Psychologyb) Must have strong communication skills (oral and written)c) Must have strong interpersonal skillsd) Must have strong organizational skills
e) Knowledge of cognitive behaviour therapy, depression and anxiety, ethics, assessment
f) Advanced computer skills preferred (e.g., Word, Excel, web page management, social media)
