Support Staff Regular Part-time Replacement Position
(First consideration for Support Staff and Academic positions will be given to internal applicants in accordance with the respective Collective Agreements)
As a member of the Campus Store team, the position incumbent will demonstrate a passion for creating an environment where exceptional customer experience can be consistently delivered to users during both peak and regular seasons of operations.
The incumbent will support the Campus Store teams, Course Materials and Retail, in offering products, services, and supports to all users both in the virtual and in-store retail environment. This position contributes to the team by maintaining a focus on elevating customer satisfaction with the Campus Store.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department working fully on-site. The successful candidate will work on-site at the Guelph Campus 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Maintain up-to-date/accurate knowledge of all products, services, and supports offered by the Campus Store including information such as: the intended audience (i.e. program or campus-specific), the use, and the process to access the product or service
- Welcome customers into the Campus Store, determine customer needs and clearly communicate to support the customer in connecting with their desired outcome, including gathering information from the customer, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and connecting the customer with additional resources or next steps
- Complete POS operations and processes including but not limited to: processing sales, refunds, gift cards, ONE Card purchases, sponsored students transactions, fees, and internal departmental transactions/special orders according to Campus Store policies and procedures
- Provide high quality customer service in an energetic, courteous manner
- Receive, investigate, and respond to questions and concerns from a variety of users (Students, Staff, Faculty, and Visitors) confidentially utilizing multiple Campus Stores systems to review customer information and accurately confirm the appropriate next step
- Initial contact for receiving inquiries and initiating the discussion where an “exception” to normal store policies may be made
- Ensure Campus Store is merchandised and displayed according to Campus Store standards, procedures, and policies including executing promotions
- Maintain clean, organized, and accurate store and storage areas including, shelving units tags and labelling system, stock organization, walls and floor space, cashier and work areas
- One year certificate in a relevant field of study
- Two years of related practical experience
- Excellent client service skills
- Knowledge of computers and MS Office Suite
- Point of Sale experience
- Strong conflict resolution skills
